Guiding Deity of Omuta Kumano Shrine

Our shrine was founded in the 3rd year of Emperor Ankan (533 AD) to enshrine the ancestral deity of the local gentry as a guardian god.
In the 2nd year of Tencho (825 AD), a divided spirit was enshrined here from Kumano, Wakayama Prefecture.
Since then, it has accumulated 1500 years of history as an ancient shrine in the Omuta region,
and continues to this day as one of the most revered shrines.
